A Midsummer Day ~ A Picnic in the Valley

June 23rd – 10am – 4pm

We’ll be making an altered journal by taking a very fun, old book and making it something very special for you or someone that is special to you.  With most creative endeavors I will encourage pre-planning.  It can be helpful as you follow a specific theme [idea/event/subject/person] to come up with creative ideas that enhance it::    colors ~ quotes ~ photos ~ memorabilia ~ etc…

Plot, plan and gather as you prepare to dive into this one-of-a-kind creation.

Gatherings:: a nice old book [the sample book is about 4x6...it was a nice size to work with], a fun variety of vintagey papers [sheet music, ledgers, wallpaper, and the list goes on and on...],one good quality photo that will be framed on the front [or I'll have a few options here...like the one pictured] a variety of other pictures, scrapbooking papers, trims [ribbons, lace, rick-rack, etc], memorabilia, flat trinkets and doo~dads,

when ‘gathering’ the above listed items, because this is a small item, small amounts will work well

Basic Supplies:: first off, think of basic crafting supplies that you can’t live without…and make sure you include::  scissors, glue [Zip Dry Paper Glue and E6000], ink pads 1or 2… in neutrals, ruler, sharp pencil, paper trimmer/cutter, basic paper for the journal pages [my favorite is resumé paper...it has a high cotton content]

Other optional ideas::  rubber stamps, a small assortment of nice, fine pens in case you want to do some writing, wavy scrapbooking scissors

For your own notes::  _________________________________________________________________
