Spending some time in Alaska with my parents is always a treat. They have a very [very, very] beautiful little [very, very] remote spot where they spend the summer. On most days the only sounds are that of birds, jumping fish and an occasional float plane. This year it has been a treat to bring some of our kids with us. Noah had is first plane ride and his first and second ferry rides. It takes a long day of travel [about 15 hrs]. With a stop at the grocery store on the island, that is on the way home, we make sure we have everything we need so we are able to stay put and enjoy fishing, playing games and eating way too much of my mom’s wonderful cooking.
