yes, she is still alive – I actually wrote this post many weeks ago but didn’t publish it [that happens sometimes] – today feels like a good day to share it with you …the pictures make me smile!!!

It’s rare that I take a chance to be creative when I host a workshop. At my most recent one, I twiddled away on something fun and then finished it up a day or two later. I have a little collection of Strawberry Shortcake cuties that I pull out when I decorate for Valentine’s Day and I also use them when I have tea parties with my nieces.  I took one of my paper ones and added it to this centerpiece.  It just made the whole thing work.   When I thought I had it finished it seemed to need more balance.  Mr T buys the Laughing Cow/Creamy Swiss cheese wedges and he knows not to throw away the round boxes that they come in {I think he’s even afraid to throw away empty toilet paper rolls because he knows that I have ‘uses’ for them}.  Covering the box in a variety of vintage papers gave this just the touch that it needed.

Holly and Becky were here to teach for the day but they also managed to make a beautiful piece…and, do you know what?  Those sweeties left it with ME!    [love those girls]

it’s a Boho Valentine

Boho Valentine 2013

February is a perfect time to spend a day with other gals being creative.  This Valentine-themed workshop is a favorite day for me each year.  I hosted it the weekend after Valentine's Day which seemed to encourage a smaller turn-out.  Although I love having my house buzzing with a lot of creatives I also love the calm and quiet that comes with having a smaller group.  Sometimes that even allows for me to pick up some glitter and hot glue.  [I made a fun little number which might possibly be a separate post].

It was a sweet treat having Becky and Holly of All That Glitter spend the day with us, teaching this very, very fun workshop. [thanks ladies...from the bottom of my sweet, little, thankful heart I say, "Thank You!".  ♥

I could also say a huge and very thankful., "Thank You!" to Amber of Tres Birds Photography for all of the beautiful images in this post.  I'm in love with her friendship and her photography.  [pure loveliness]  ♥

Another thing that I found lovely from this day was that I had three gals here who had never had this Boho experience before.  They seemed to not leave disappointed and I’m certain that I’ll be seeing each of them again.  It makes me happy to walk through experience this with ladies [it really is an experience]…their chance to get away for the day, be creative, eat wonderful food together and leave with a sense of fulfillment.  It even makes me happier when I know that I’ll see them again some day.

Stay tuned for new information on the 2013 weekend retreats planned for April and October.  I have a much too relaxed approach to these this year which I’ll say is refreshing and disturbing all at the same time.  I will also say that I am very excited for each one and the time that will be spent with the gals that have signed up to attend.

2013 Valentine Tea and Glitter Workshop

Valentine Tea & Glitter Workshop

I’m excited about this year’s

Boho ~ Valentine Tea and Glitter Workshop

each one has been so great and feels like a perfect way to spend a winter’s day…celebrating life, friendship, tea & coffee, craftiness, wonderful food and glitter.

I’m excited to have Becky and Holly, of All That Glitter, back to teach this workshop.  They have a way of making an average day bright, beautiful and glistening with glitter.  I love it each time they can be a part of a crafting event.

They have designed a centerpiece that is built from the bottom up.  We’ll start with an empty spool.   It will then be embellished with vintage papers, distressed tinsel, German glass glitter and ribbons. As you work along, the theme of your choice is added.  This princess-themed piece gives you an idea of what you’ll be working with.  Bring anything along that will make this a project for you…one that tickles your creative fancy!  We will also have some fun options available here for you.
